Center & Certificate Lab

The Duke Sustainable Systems & Innovations Lab is located within the Energy Hub (room 102H) at the P.M. Gross Chemistry Building. The lab is situated in the heart of where Duke’s professional schools are housed on west campus.

 The 4,000 square foot laboratory is designed to promote collaboration and innovation.  Housed inside the lab are:

  • 30 analytic work stations
  • Life cycle inventory and analysis programs, enterprise reporting tools, and sustainable infrastructure simulation software
  • Consumer use and post-use empirical and behavioral databases
  • Systems modeling stations
  • A product deconstruction and innovation dry lab
  • Product and packaging innovation work stations
  • Space for graduate fellows of the Duke Center for Sustainability & Commerce
  • Offices for visiting faculty
  • Conference rooms and technologies for lectures and seminars
